Privacy and Security play key role in the success of Electronic Health Record solution. Privacy and security are the common reason that the providers are hesitate to adopt the EHR and the patients are reluctant to put their personal health information in EHR. A comprehensive EHR Privacy and Security Reference Architecture will provide appropriate privacy and security protection to patients’ information, in return will promote the providers’ adoption and patients’ acceptance.
This EHR Privacy and Security Reference Architecture is informed by and expanded from Canada Health Infoway’s EHRi – Privacy and Security Conceptual Architecture. However, this document presents the architecture from different view points and tries to address some comments on CHI’s Architecture.
